Multinational law firm Pinsent Masons has advised various institutional investors in relation to Umicore’s € 591 million sustainability linked note fundraising.
Umicore is a leading circular materials technology company with an extensive expertise in the fields of material science, chemistry and metallurgy.
The fundraising relates to the private placing of notes with more than 15 institutional investors. The deal further ties the group’s funding to its sustainability performance. The coupon of the notes will be directly linked to Umicore’s progress towards the carbon neutrality goals formulated in its ‘Let’s go for Zero’ sustainability ambitions.
The Pinsent Masons team advising on the transaction was led by Financial Services partner Edward Sunderland.
Commenting on the deal, Edward Sunderland said: “This is a great example of sustainability being at the heart of strategic investments, and we can only see this trend continuing. Umicore is a fantastic business with an ambitious sustainability target to reaching carbon neutrality in 2035 and we look forward to continuing advising the investors in supporting their plans and ambition for the future.”
